About Euro Car Electronics - European Car Specialists on the Sunshine Coast

Euro Car Electronics is a specialist European vehicle diagnostics and electronics workshop based on the Sunshine Coast.

Since 2011, we have helped vehicle owners, automotive workshops and trade partners diagnose complex faults, repair valuable electronic modules and resolve software-driven problems that often fall outside the capabilities of a general mechanical workshop.

๐Ÿ”ง Our Story

Euro Car Electronics was founded in 2011 to provide a more specialised approach to European vehicle electronics, diagnostics, retrofits and performance.

As European vehicles became increasingly dependent on interconnected control modules, communication networks and specialised software, we recognised that many faults could not be solved through conventional mechanical repairs or by simply replacing parts.

We built Euro Car Electronics around proper fault diagnosis, vehicle-specific technical knowledge, electronics engineering and access to advanced diagnostic and repair equipment.

๐Ÿ” What Makes Us Different

Euro Car Electronics is not a general mechanical workshop. Our focus is the electronic, electrical and software-controlled systems found in modern European vehicles.

Our team can diagnose a fault in the vehicle, remove and test the affected module, complete component-level repairs where possible, and then reinstall, code and validate the system.

This combined workshop and electronics-laboratory capability helps us identify the root cause of complex problems, avoid unnecessary parts replacement and provide solutions that make technical and financial sense.

โš™๏ธ Our Technical Capabilities

Our Sunshine Coast workshop provides:

  • Advanced European vehicle diagnostics and fault tracing
  • Coding, programming and software configuration

๐Ÿš˜ European Vehicle Specialists

We primarily support modern European vehicles, including Mercedes-Benz, BMW, MINI, Audi, Volkswagen, Skoda, Porsche, Bentley and other specialist European marques.

Our electronics-first approach is particularly suited to intermittent electrical faults, battery drain, communication problems, non-starting vehicles, transmission and mechatronics faults, infotainment failures, coding issues and problems involving multiple interconnected vehicle systems.

๐Ÿ“ฆ Australia-Wide Module Repairs

Our electronic and module repair services are available to customers and automotive businesses throughout Australia. Vehicle owners, dealerships, repair workshops, auto electricians and other trade partners can send eligible ECUs, mechatronics units, instrument clusters, amplifiers, infotainment systems and other electronic modules to our Sunshine Coast workshop for testing and repair. Repairing the vehicleโ€™s original module can reduce replacement costs, avoid parts availability delays, retain the original configuration and reduce unnecessary electronic waste.

๐Ÿ‘ฅ Our Team

Euro Car Electronics brings together experienced European vehicle technicians, electronics specialists, parts professionals and customer support staff.

Our combined knowledge of vehicle systems, electronics, software and component-level repair allows us to approach complex faults from several technical perspectives rather than treating them as isolated mechanical problems.

Martin Westwood

Euro Car Electronics - Martin Westwood
A self professed โ€œcar fanaticโ€, Euro Car Electronics founding Director, Martin Westwood, has a particular love of European cars.

Martin worked in the UK for a number of years and after moving to Australia, he turned his hobby and passion into a business in 2011.

Martin was running a wakeboarding club in Townsville and being new to the area, had bought a GPS kit from Europe to fit into his car. โ€œI had to do a fair amount of research and call on my connections in the industry in Europe to teach me how to retrofit the kit properly,โ€ Martin said. โ€œI was very hands on in the early days of the business and did the earlier installs. So I quickly learned how to reverse engineer to get a specific result.โ€

From this personal experience, Martin could see that this was not a unique problem and he started Euro Car Electronics.

I appreciate the quality and attention to detail that is synonymous with European engineering and manufacturing, I am a perfectionist myself and I wanted to develop a business that could offer better solutions for people who are passionate about their vehicles. We are nine years on and we are now one of the few companies in Australia that offer the retrofitting and performance services we do. I have carefully selected my team and I know they share my values around attention to detail and customer service.

Carl Gilbert - Master Technician Audi

Euro Car Electronics - Carl Gilbert
A mechanic by trade, Carl cut his teeth working on Audis at an Audi dealership. โ€œThe difficult jobs used to be passed on to me,โ€ Carl said. โ€œBut I enjoyed the challenge of figuring out technical issues that no-one else could fix.โ€
Around six years ago, Carl joined the team at Euro Car Electronics and oversees the technical issues that the company deals with.
Helping people with their upgrades is so rewarding, our clients want their cars to go faster and generally perform better and thatโ€™s what we can do for them. We have to stay in front of the technical aspects of our service offering and that is something I also enjoy. It means we can provide services that are unique.
